The Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Personnel (SAEOPP) awards a $1000 scholarship to a Kentucky TRIO Program participant, (which includes Educational Talent Search [ETS]).  The SAEOPP Scholarship application is mailed to all ETS seniors in October with an expected return postmark deadline.

The 2009-10 Scholarship application was mailed to all eligible ETS seniors, on October 29, 2009.  Applications must be returned to the ETS Office, postmarked no later than November 13, 2009.

The Eastern Kentucky University ETS staff reviews the scholarship applications after the deadline date, and will in turn, select one application to represent the EKU ETS program in the state competition.

To be eligible for the scholarship, seniors must have:

1.   at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average,
2.   a full year of participation in the ETS program.

Materials that must be mailed back to the ETS Office, include:

1.   the completed, (typed) SAEOPP Scholarship application (including a 300 word essay),
2.   an official high school transcript, and
3.   a letter of recommendation from a school official (teacher, counselor, principal).

In addition, please note, the sponsor for your scholarship application will be an ETS staff member who writes the second recommendation letter.
