One goal of ETS is
to assist qualified youths with potential for education at the postsecondary
level and encourage them to complete secondary education and enroll in postsecondary
education. The second goal of ETS is to encourage persons who have not completed
secondary or postsecondary education to reenter those programs.

MAKING CHOICES
ETS assists in decision
making processes, so that carefully considered career and educational decisions
can be made. Information can be provided on colleges and vocational programs
located in Kentucky and throughout the United States. ETS can provide detailed
information on almost any occupation.

TESTING

Practice
Tests - this site is a great tool for testing yourself in preparation
for the many tests you might take.
ACT
Prep is a software program that includes timed ACT practice tests,
content-specific test-taking strategies, a personalized test preparation program,
and more! We have the school version in the ETS Office, which is available
for use by all ETS students. Just call our office (859-622-5425), if
you would like to take this practice test. Most individuals that practice
the test several times, tend to improve on their scores.
Academic
Enhancements
PLAN
(10th graders measure academic development, explore career & training
options. The PLAN is given to 10th graders in October.) The PLAN results
can give one an indication of how one will score on the ACT.
PSAT/NMSQT
(11th graders should consider taking the Preliminary SAT ® /National
Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. 10th graders can take the PSAT as
a practice test. Students interested in taking the PSAT will need to
register in the school guidance office in September for the October test.)

ACT TEST DATES (All high school juniors take the ACT at their
school during the month of March, at no cost to the student). In addition,
junior and senior ETS participants may obtain two ACT Fee Waivers from
their ETS Coordinator. This will permit the student to take the ACT two
additional times at no cost to the student.

ETS
helps individuals work through the process of career choices, entrance testing,
school applications, scholarship applications, and financial aid forms.
If an ETS student or parent/guardian needs assistance in filling out any of
these applications or forms, just call the ETS Office at (859) 622-5425, or
set up a time to meet with your Educational Coordinator.
FIELD
TRIPS & SPECIAL ETS ACTIVITIES 
ETS makes trips to
visit different postsecondary schools (in-state and out-of-state) and career
locations during the academic year and summer months with its participants.
ETS also coordinates a Career Day for sixth through eighth grade participants,
ETS Camp Chameleon for the eighth grade level, and an overnight trip for high
school participants.
